Farming

Farming is the basis of the Group's vertically integrated operations, which provide its raw material for the Group's industrial production and the placement of surpluses on the market. Žito Group grows crops on more than 21,000 ha of arable agricultural land. In comparison, crops are purchased from an additional 66,000 ha of agricultural land owned by Žito subcontractors, making Žito the second largest cultivator of agricultural land in Croatia. Žito Group produces more than 300,000 tons of field crops of cereals, oilseeds, and industrial plants annually, and the known origin is the basis for ensuring the quality of finished products. Agricultural activity is based on the balanced application of agrotechnical measures with minimal use of agrochemicals and new-generation mechanization.
