Eggs are prepared for the market in the packing center for eggs, where they are sorted and packed according to customer requirements. Food health safety management system in the packing center for eggs includes norms IFS, ISO 22000:2005, ISO/TS 22002-1 and additional FSSC 22000 requirements.
Egg production
Žito grupa is the largest producer of eggs in the Republic of Croatia with a production of 130 million eggs per year. Hen farms are located in Vuka, near Osijek and Volavje, near Jastrebarsko. Poultry facilities are equipped with enriched cages and floor rearing, that is fully aligned with the EU legislation. Fresh eggs have a sign "Eggs from Croatian farms" awarded by the Croatian Agricultural Agency and "Proven quality" awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture.
