Žito Group is the Socially Responsible Company of the Year
At the prestigious award ceremony 'Zlatna košarica' Žito Group has been awarded with the title of the socially responsible company of the year in the FMCG industry.
The prestigious "Zlatna košarica" award was awarded to representatives of the FMCG industry last night, highlighting the business excellence during the previous year. On this occasion, Žito Group was awarded, together with Dukat, with the title of socially responsible company of the year.
The award "Socially Responsible Company of the Year" aims to identify the positive aspects of the relationships with the employees, the responsibility towards the consumers and the citizens, and all the projects aimed at improving the life of the community. After the last year's award for manufacturer of the year, Žito Group received the 'Zlatna košarica' award last night in the category 'Socially Responsible Company of the Year', with the same number of votes as Dukat. The ceremony was held in the Crystal Hall of the Westin Hotel in Zagreb.
Corporate responsibility of the Žito Group embraces relationships with employees, suppliers, customers and the entire community in which it exists and operates. Its actions contribute to the better everyday life of Slavonia, but also to anyone who consumes some of the Group's many products. By respecting the resources of the fertile Slavonian land, Žito produces value-added products.

In the past business year, Žito Group invested 35 million kunas (4.7 million Euros) in the renovation of the Osijek Sokol Center, which thanks to this investment became the state-of-the-art sports facility and gymnasium center in the region, covering 2400 square meters. Gymnastics Society Osijek-Žito currently counts 1083 members of all generations, triggering the trend of family exercise and directly encouraging the healthy life of the whole family and all generations.
DOBRO World Cup, with the sponsorship of the Žito Group and brand DOBRO, for the 11th time in a row brought world gymnastics to Slavonia, FC Osijek set the 'white-blue' city in motion and returned the love of citizens towards the club, Pannonian Challenge gathers extreme sports fans for two decades and this year becomes a qualifying competition for the Olympic Games, and the Swim Club Osijek Žito together with the Athletic Club of Slavonia - Žito has been raising new generations of athletes for years.
In addition, the Group is aware of environmental responsibility and in its daily production processes members of the Group adhere to the Croatian and world environmental standards to preserve the environment. We are particularly proud of the fact that Žito in its 4 biogas plants with organic residues from farms and agricultural sites annually produces 43 GWh of electricity, exceeding the total electricity consumption of all 29 members of the Žito Group together.
